In case you submitted your number through your learning institution or directly through KENET Platform but you cannot see the menu, kindly lodge a support case with us via the Contact Support page.

In your support case, ensure that you clearly indicate your mobile number and method of submission (e.g. through KENET Platform or your learning institution) to allow verification and resolution.

 

How soon can I be able to access the discounted bundles for E-Learning after registration?

New registrations/submissions to the platform will take up to 14 days to be enrolled for discounted bundles purchase.

How can I verify whether an educational resource is included in the discounted bundles?

You can verify whether an educational resource is already whitelisted by checking on the KENET Platform under Educational Resource Verification https://registration.kenet.or.ke/resource_verification_check

Why is a specific educational resource not whitelisted?

Inclusion of educational resources is an ongoing process and the initial databases have been developed jointly with participating institutions. Only resources that are strictly being used for e-learning or online learning are included in the whitelist database.

Additional educational resources can be proposed for inclusion by submitting through https://registration.kenet.or.ke/url_whitelist. These submissions shall be reviewed in collaboration with your university before inclusion.

Note: Social media websites and portals are not included. Any submission of a resource that cannot be verified to be educational and not approved by your learning institution shall not be included in the whitelist.

 

My institution provides emails through Google Mail, will the email access be under the education bundle?

At this time, institutional email services hosted on Google Cloud email Platform are not incorporated in the Safaricom E-Learning discounted bundles. Efforts are being made to include these resources.

Are other Google Services (Google Mail, Google Classroom, Google Drive, etc) included in the education bundle?

At this time, all services hosted on Google Cloud Platforms including GMail, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Google Drive, YouTube are not incorporated in the Safaricom E-Learning discounted bundles. Efforts are being made to include these resources..

I made an error when submitting my mobile number for enrollment. How can I rectify the error?

If you made an error in your submission, kindly raise a support case by submitting your query under the Contact Support tab of this platform.

For submission errors, under Contact Support, select Rectify Submission Error under Category. You will be required to re-enter the mobile telephone number used for the erroneous submission.

All reported erroneous submissions shall be deleted every 24 hours to allow for the users to submit afresh.

Can I register my number for the discounted bundles for E-Learning using an alternative email e.g gmail, yahoo etc?

The mobile number submission platform associates a user to a learning institution through ownership of a valid educational institution email address such as student1@myuniversity.ac.ke. Kindly contact your learning institution or university to create for you an institutional email address to allow you to register for the discounted bundles.

What if I am unable to log in to the email address assigned to me by my university or learning institution?

Kindly contact your learning institution or university on the format of the email address and process of resetting your password

I don’t have a National ID or Passport Number for use in registering my number for discounted bundles

In the registration form, the National ID or Passport Number is not mandatory. You can leave the field blank if you do not have the details

I submitted my enrollment details but am yet to receive an email verification

Kindly check your email in the spam or junk folders. If the email has not been delivered to your inbox, junk or spam folder please check whether you registered with the correct institutional email. You can also raise a support case by submitting your query under the Contact Support tab of this platform.

Can I use the purchased bundles for more than 30 days?

The validity of the discounted Safaricom E-Learning Bundles is 30 days. Any bundle balance remaining after 30 days shall be re-activated when a subscriber purchases another E-Learning bundle.

When will users on other mobile networks (Airtel Network and Telkom Kenya) be able to purchase discounted education bundles?

KENET is in an advanced stage with both Airtel Networks and Telkom Kenya on activation of educational bundles for our community. KENET shall communicate through your educational institutions immediately the bundle solutions are available for purchase.

Who is eligible to enrol and purchase discounted education bundles?

All students and staff of institutions of higher learning (Universities, University Colleges, etc) are eligible to enrol and purchase the discounted bundles once the subscriber has been whitelisted/activated.

Are the discounted bundles sponsored by the educational institutions or users buy for themselves (self-sponsored)?

The discounted bundles are pre-paid and users are expected to purchase for themselves. Mobile subscribers on either pre-paid or post-paid subscriber plans are eligible to register and purchase the discounted education bundles. Any bundle plans that are paid for by an institution will be specifically communicated by that institution to its users.

What are associated costs and data plans for the discounted education bundles?

KENET in collaboration with Kenyan Higher education institutions and mobile networks providers have negotiated the following pre-paid bundle plans for the community:

  1. Safaricom - 10GB/month data bundle at KES 500

  2. Airtel Networks - 12GB/month data bundle at KES 500

  3. Telkom Kenya - 30GB/month data bundle at KES 999 (data bundles are consumed at 1GB per day)
